Cirrus IQ, stabilized approach highlight 2020 G6 SR series
Cirrus debuted its 2020 G6 SR series with new features including Cirrus IQ and a stabilized approach advisory system that lets you and the aircraft communicate on the ground and in the air.
The new Cirrus IQ feature lets you remotely check the status of different systems on the SR20, SR22, and SR22T from your smartphone.
You can see the aircraft’s fuel level, battery voltage, oil temperature, total time, and if equipped, TKS and oxygen levels. The idea is that the you can call ahead to have the aircraft serviced, if needed, so that it is ready before you even reach the airport.
The aircraft can talk to you in flight too. Think of it like your safety pilot or flight instructor who provides a second set of eyes to make sure you don’t miss something on an instrument approach.
The Cirrus Perspective+ flight deck by Garmin adds a stabilized approach advisory system that will alert you if you deviate laterally or vertically by a three-quarter-scale deflection, if the flaps are set wrong, or the altimeter is set incorrectly. It will also warn you if you have more than a 20-knot crosswind or 10-knot tailwind for landing.
The 2020 edition also includes the option for a four-blade, carbon-fiber Hartzell propeller for the SR22T; bold paint schemes; new collections; enhanced interiors; and a new key fob.
