Go Wheels Up! Texas and AOPA leaders made the decision “given the rapidly evolving situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC's) recommendation to avoid large gatherings, and out of an abundance of caution for our members, attendees, vendors, and staff.”

The two organizations will be working together to consider an alternate date to hold the co-located event later in 2020 or in 2021.

“Unfortunately, with the growing concern over a widespread outbreak, AOPA and Go Wheels Up! Texas believe we all must do our part to contain the virus by limiting travel and interactions to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure and potential strain on the healthcare system,” the two groups said.

Those who registered for the San Marcos event (including the Career Fair) will receive a full refund of payments received. Registrants don’t need to take action to initiate refunds; AOPA will process credit card refunds as soon as able. Please expect delays for refunds by check.

The AOPA fly-ins in Casper, Wyoming, and Rochester, New York, planned for June 19 and 20 and September 11 and 12, respectively, are expected to occur as scheduled. However, pilots should monitor AOPA media channels for updates.

“We appreciate your continued support as we all navigate these uncertain times together,” the groups said.

San Marcos was the site of the very first AOPA Fly-In in 2014.
