Aithre introduces CO detector for the panel
Aithre, a manufacturer of health-monitoring technology devices, has introduced the Aithre Shield eDot 5.0 carbon monoxide detector, a Part 23-approved panel-mounted unit with an LED indicator for easy visualization of cockpit air quality.
The carbon monoxide detector is approved for certified nonpressurized aircraft and is also available for installation in experimental aircraft, said Ketchum, Idaho-based Aithre in a news release.
The Aithre Shield eDot 5.0 weighs 1.1 ounces, has a height of 0.67 inches, and has a wired panel-mounted indicator with intuitive corresponding light levels.
The CO detector is unaffected by pressure and altitude changes, and the CO sensor response is under 30 seconds between 0 and 225 parts per million, with 1-ppm resolution. The sensor requires no recalibration for 10 years under normal operating conditions, according to the company.
An internal temperature adjustment circuit compensates for temperature-induced CO reading errors in the CO sensor between minus 10 degrees Celsius and 50 degrees C.
The Aithre Shield eDot 5.0 lists for $450, and can be purchased on the Aithre website or from retailers or avionics installers.
