Bye begins conforming prototype production
Bye Aerospace has begun building the first conforming prototype of its all-electric eFlyer 2, one of three aircraft that will be flown to achieve FAA certification, the company announced.
CEO George Bye said in a January 26 news release that Composites Universal Group will build the eFlyer 2 fuselage, the first major component of the conforming prototype.
“We continue to make advances in the certification process,” Bye said in the news release. “These activities commence production of the first conforming eFlyer 2, the first of three planned conforming eFlyer 2 aircraft that will be used to help complete final FAA certification. We look forward to working with Steve Ruege and the team at CUG.”
Bye Aerospace is engineering electric aircraft that are expected to achieve a fivefold reduction in operating costs, eliminate carbon dioxide emissions, and reduce noise.
