Organizers announced their plans to move forward with the event on January 26. The event had to be canceled in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic. AOPA had planned to co-locate one of our regional fly-ins with Go Wheels Up! Texas in 2020 but also had to cancel. This year, AOPA will instead host a one-day Aviator Showcase at Fort Worth Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 1.

Go Wheels Up! Texas will include the U.S. Air Force F–16 Viper Demonstration Team, “hundreds of classic, exotic and unique automobiles,” and a concert headlined by Texas musician Cory Morrow.

“Of course, our central concern is the safety of our spectators, performers and staff. We will be monitoring all available information regarding public health and we will act in accordance with directives from city, county and state officials,” Go Wheels Up! Texas Director of Operations Clayton Corn said regarding the ongoing pandemic. Corn explained that the decision to move forward with the event is based on “the assumption that the pressure on the healthcare system will ease by the end of May to a point that we all feel it’s appropriate to hold a large outdoor event.”

Social distancing and other health and safety precautions are being included in the event planning, Corn said.

Go Wheels Up! Texas organizers said tickets will go on sale February 8 but did not release pricing information.
