Staring January 26, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention order required all passengers over 2 years of age traveling from a foreign country into the United States to present proof of a negative coronavirus test (taken within three days of the flight) or proof of recovery from the virus. The order applies to everyone traveling by general aviation, including the pilot, family, and friends on board.

Pilots have been asking how they can find information about testing locations in foreign countries. CST Flight Services recently launched a COVID-19 Testing Facilities section on its members-only website. (Membership costs $49.99 per year.) AOPA members can call CST Flight Services (786-206-6147; select option 1 or option 3) for free to request the testing site information.

The information details the documentation required; the operator’s responsibilities; and testing facility name, address, telephone number, and test cost (in U.S. dollars) for Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, St. Martin, the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. CST Flight Services continues to add new destinations to the list.

The company offers information on its website regarding COVID-19 travel restrictions that is open to everyone.

Rick Gardner, owner and director of CST Flight Services, is AOPA’s representative for the Bahamas, Mexico, and Central America.
