Gogo Vision 360 – A Premium Inflight Entertainment Experience

Gogo Business Aviation continues to enhance its Vision inflight entertainment (IFE) offerings with its newest product, Gogo Vision 360. With Vision 360, you can keep everyone onboard entertained, with the latest movies and TV shows, a vast digital magazine library, a premium 3D moving map, seamless remote content updates, and more. Read on to learn why so many passengers and operators consider Gogo Vision “an essential part of the inflight experience”.

All of us need a little downtime from time to time and during a flight can be a great time to sit back and relax. That’s why Gogo Business Aviation has continued to enhance its Vision in-flight entertainment (IFE) offerings.

Gogo Vision 360—its newest product that launched in December 2020—provides unlimited streaming of on-demand movies, television programs, news, and digital magazines, plus an interactive 3D moving map that’s unmatched by any other IFE product in business aviation.

We launched our IFE offering in 2014, and since that time we’ve seen many competitors come and go,” said Todd Krawczyk, director of product development for Gogo. “We continue to focus on the key aspects we believe make our solution better. It’s fulfilling that we've been as successful as we have been, considering some of the big names that also gave IFE a go.

Three tiers of Gogo Vision

With access through their own portable devices or the in-cabin IFE system, Gogo Vision now offers three tiers of service, ensuring every AVANCE customer has a product to match their needs. The base Gogo Vision, complimentary with all Gogo AVANCE systems, features a basic 3D moving map, destination weather, and Bloomberg news clips. Gogo Vision+ adds premium FlightPath3D moving map features, 30 popular magazine titles, and the Cloudport automatic update device. Gogo Vision 360 adds unlimited viewing of 150+ licensed movies and television episodes, with multilingual audio tracks for select content and is currently the only business aviation IFE platform providing access to Disney content, including animated favorites, titles from the Star Wars franchise, and Disney Kids’ television shows.

We ended 2020 with more units online than when the year started,” said Krawczyk. “It was a testament to the value that our IFE system is providing to our customers.

Premium content for Plus and 360 customers

One feature available to Gogo Vision+ and 360 customers that has rapidly gained popularity since the coronavirus pandemic began is the magazine library, which contains the current and previous month’s issues of more than 30 popular titles such as Forbes and Inc., Golf Digest, Wine Spectator, and many others.

In the ongoing COVID-19 environment, digital publications have proven to be very popular with passengers because they don’t have to worry about who else might have been holding a magazine,” said Gogo President Sergio Aguirre. “Digital magazines are not only convenient and up to date, but they offer a safer option that helps ensure passenger health.

Instantly refreshed content

Gone are the days when someone would have to schedule updates to the IFE and physically swap out content via a USB drive on their aircraft—or an entire fleet. Today, Vision customers receive instantaneous content updates in their own hangars or at FBOs with Gogo Cloudport Wi-Fi.

One of the things we worked really hard on is making [content updates] painless for our customers,” said Krawczyk. “The Cloudport unit turns a hangar into a Gogo Wi-Fi hotspot, which means customers don’t even have to think about their content. It automatically updates whenever new content is available.

Premium moving map

One of the biggest recent improvements Gogo made was to the moving map. Partnering with FlightPath3D Gogo now provides an immersive augmented-reality moving map. “Gogo Vision has become an essential part of the inflight experience for many of our passengers and operators,” said Aguirre. “The addition of a new 3D moving map provides an interactive experience for passengers. It’s something our customers have asked for, and our team delivered.

The premium moving map available with Gogo Vision+ and 360 combines high- resolution satellite imagery, virtual-reality window-seat views including points of interest, a cockpit heads-up display, and an aircraft 360-degree view.
