Talbot Martin is an associate at Yodice Associates. He assists AOPA Legal Services Plan members and private clients with their aviation issues, primarily with FAA certificate actions, aircraft accidents, and medical certification matters.
Mr. Martin grew up with a love of flying, taking his first flying lesson at the age of 14. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, he spent several summers on a little grass strip in Oklahoma learning to fly, working at the airport in exchange for flying lessons. After graduating from Oklahoma State University, Mr. Martin worked as a Flight Instructor at Tulsa’s Riverside airport (KRVS) before attending law school. “I’ve been very lucky in my legal career; from day one my legal career has been centered on aviation. I was involved in enforcement cases before graduation.”
Mr. Martin obtained his J.D. degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law and a B.S. in Aviation Sciences from Oklahoma State University. While at Oklahoma State, Talbot was an active member of the Flying Aggies and worked with A&P mechanics to maintain the school’s training aircraft.
Talbot is a Certified Flight Instructor and holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate with ratings in single and multi–engine aircraft. He maintains his currency by flying a Piper Cherokee (and any other plane that he gets the opportunity to fly).
