Legislators propose changes to aviation trust fund
AOPA is closely tracking two bills in the Missouri Senate that would affect the state's aviation trust fund. Senate Bill 602 would create a sales tax exemption on aviation jet fuel that will be consumed on transoceanic flights. AOPA wrote the Senate Ways and Means Committee, opposing the measure because the money collected through that sales tax is deposited into the state's aviation trust fund. Another bill, S.B. 120, would increase the state contribution into the aviation trust fund, from $6 million to $8.5 million. AOPA expressed its support for the bill in a letter to the Senate Governmental Accountability and Fiscal Oversight Committee.

Aircraft sellers can benefit from tips and AOPA resources to ensure the process goes smoothly.

Cars depreciate dramatically as they are driven off the dealer's lot and house values drop with the economy, but aircraft historically have not only kept their value, they sometimes exceeded it.
