AOPA steps up effort to protect Biddeford airport
With a petition for a vote to close Biddeford Municipal Airport in the hands of the Biddeford, Maine, mayor and city council, AOPA is wasting no time to save the airport. On Jan. 24, AOPA Vice President of Regional Affairs Greg Pecoraro met with the mayor and city manager to discuss the referendum and explain the value of the airport to the local community. AOPA had written the city earlier, opposing any move to close the airport. “Biddeford officials must recognize that we are serious about protecting the airport,” Pecoraro said.
