Pilotworkshops.com, which acquired user-friendly manual company ZD Publishing last year, recently released manuals for the GTN 650 and 750.
With an all-new interface and logic of operation, the Garmin GTN 650 and 750 represent a challenge for aircraft owners who have upgraded to the touch-screen GPS/NAV/COMM units. Although Garmin’s manuals go through all the relevant functions, Pilotworkshops.com believes it has a better solution with its “pilot friendly” versions.
Like all the ZD Publishing manuals, those for the GTN 650 and 750 are organized in a step-by-step manner to help pilots work through specific scenarios. They are available in print or electronic formats, and cost $44.95.

The Civil Air Patrol is extending the life of many of its aircraft through a thrifty refurbishment program.
AOPA’s message that the cost to equip is too high and must drop substantially was heard loud and clear at a “call to action” summit on ADS-B.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA ) must address the serious concerns of the general aviation industry before pushing ahead with a mandate to install ADS-B Out equipment by Jan. 1, 2020, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) told the agency in a strongly worded letter.
