Sporty’s has unveiled its 2015 Christmas ornament, and this year’s pick is the V-tail Bonanza.
“When we met to choose this year’s airplane for our Christmas ornament, we were surprised to realize we’d never featured a Bonanza,” said Sporty’s Vice President John Zimmerman. “Then we realized that 2015 marks the seventieth anniversary of the Bonanza’s first flight, and we knew we had our selection.”
The V-tail Bonanza ornament is $24.95.
If you don’t happen to fly a Bonanza but would like an ornament that more closely resembles your usual ride, you can order one that is the silhouette of a high wing, low wing, twin, or taildragger, and have it inscribed with an N number. The personalized ornament is $29.95. Either item can be ordered online or by calling 800/SPORTYS.
The custom-etched crystal ornament is the thirty-first in the series. Others have included the Douglas DC-3, the North American P-51 Mustang, and the Piper J-3 Cub. The 2014 design was a de Havilland Beaver on floats.
