Mid-Continent offers AHRS retrofit system
Want to retrofit your aircraft with the primary flight display of your choice? You’re going to need an attitude and heading reference system (AHRS), like the AX1 that Mid-Continent Instruments now sells.
The Italian-built unit can be used for general aviation and helicopter applications. The AX1 provides primary and redundant attitude heading reference for glass panel retrofit installations.
“We are thrilled to finally offer an AHRS that meets our high standards of reliability,” said Todd Winter, president of Mid-Continent Instruments. “State-of-the-art engineering and advanced testing prove that this product can meet some of the most demanding general aviation customer requirements for both fixed-wing and rotorcraft applications.”
Mid-Continent Instruments is the exclusive United States distributor for the AX1. It is manufactured by Axitude, an avionics company in Naples, Italy. Future availability of the AX2 model, an ARINC 429-compatible product, is expected in 2009.
Bilateral FAA technical standard order approval is pending. Pricing was not available during the National Business Aviation Association convention in Orlando, Fla.
