Continental offers engine rebate

Teledyne Continental Motors is offering a $1,000 rebate on new and rebuilt engines, the company said March 25. The announcement comes on the heels of a 10-percent price reduction, announced in mid-January.

The $1,000 rebate ($2,000 for geared engines) is available through April 15. Continental said there are many benefits to going with a new or factory rebuilt engine, including guaranteed pricing. With a normal overhaul, the price isn’t quoted until the crankshaft, connecting rods, and case are torn down and inspected. But with a factory new or rebuilt engine, the price is set up front. Additional benefits include certification as a zero-time engine, full airworthiness directive and service bulletin compliance, and a much faster turnaround time.

According to the manufacturer, factory new and rebuilt engines can be turned around in two weeks, which is much shorter than an overhaul in most cases.
