Mods lower Mirage temperatures
Recognizing the damage done by excessive engine heat, Malibu Aerospace is offering a new cooling modification for the Piper Mirage.
The modification is based on the company’s M1 Cooling Modification for the Mirage’s older cousin, the Malibu, and consists of a modified lower cowl and an additional cylinder cooling baffle, which will decrease cylinder head temperatures 20 degrees or more. This simple modification decreases cylinder head temperatures (CHTs), and engine and accessory temperatures without increasing drag or noise.
The mod allows Mirage pilots to climb on hot days without high CHT or oil temperatures, while maintaining the factory aircraft appearance and landing gear doors. For more information, see the company Web site or call 877/662-5428.
