AOPA Airports for BlackBerry, Windows Mobile
AOPA Airports for BlackBerry and touch screen Windows Mobile devices are now available. Thanks to a joint venture with Hilton Software, members can download the applications for free by pointing their mobile device's browser at: http://www.aopa.org/mobiledirectory.
“Hilton Software’s WingX is an impressive product. We welcomed the opportunity to partner with such an innovative organization to develop an important new resource for our members,” said Chris O’Callaghan, AOPA Vice President of ePublishing. “We’ve received many requests for both BlackBerry and Windows Mobile versions of the Airport Directory.”
“Adding the extensive AOPA directory information and airport diagrams significantly enhances our WingX products,” said Hilton Goldstein, CEO and co-founder of Hilton Software. “As a pilot, CFI, and AOPA member, I am excited to be working with AOPA to make flying safer and more fun."
AOPA Airports for Windows Mobile and BlackBerry displays airport services and FBO information as well as airport diagrams in a convenient, comprehensive format. Telephone numbers can be one-touch dialed, and the entire AOPA Airport Directory database can be downloaded wirelessly, so hurried pilots don’t have to have access to a computer in order to have the most current airport information.
Since 2003, Hilton Software has specialized in handheld-based software for general aviation, commercial, and military pilots. Its popular WingX product runs on Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, and iPhone® and iPod touch® devices. WingX's extensive feature set includes a comprehensive Airport/Facility Directory, AOPA’s Airport Directory, route planning, Federal Aviation Regulations, and more.
AOPA also offers an airports app for iPhone and iPod touch users through a partnership with ForeFlight.
