Senator gets a taste of GA in New Mexico

Aspen Avionics showed off the latest in general aviation technology and its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) last week. The senator stopped at the Albuquerque, N.M., facility as part of a tour of businesses in the state. Udall also met with members of the New Mexico Aviation/Aerospace Association, a group formed in January in an effort to provide a unified voice to aviation companies in the state.
“It is clear from my tour that the Aspen workforce is committed to delivering cutting-edge innovations to the aviation marketplace,” Udall said in a press release, “and I am proud to see their small business thriving right here in New Mexico.”
“General aviation is an established industry here in New Mexico, and Aspen is a proud member of that community,” said Aspen Avionics President and CEO John Uczekaj. “Senator Udall recognizes the contribution our industry makes to the local and state economies and is looking for ways to support our interests.”
Aspen is among the leading companies to bring glass cockpits to GA aircraft. The Aspen EFD1000 PFD was a feature of AOPA’s 2008 Get Your Glass Sweepstakes Piper Archer.
