Safety Alert Flight Restrictions

Numerous incursions have occurred recently over the P-40 and P-49 TFRs (temporary flight restrictions). Pilots must obtain notams before every flight, even local flights. The TFRs change often, and pilots who violate them can expect a certificate action at the least. View AOPA's Notams, TFRs Web page for detailed information.

P-40 is the prohibited area over Camp David in Thurmont, Maryland.

P-49 is the prohibited area over the Crawford Ranch in Texas.
