Attendees will be treated to an up-close look at US Naval Aviation operations and life on one of our largest naval vessels (here's a great behind the scenes look at day-to-day carrier ops aboard the Stennis). Been out of flying for a while? Need a little refresher? The free Rusty Pilots seminar at the 2016 AOPA Fly-Ins may be that important first step in getting you back in the left seat!
This seminar will go over many of the basics you may have forgotten, as well as update you on the latest developments in airspace, communications, and navigation. You'll review flight planning, weather, airport procedures, medical requirements – the works. You'll probably be surprised at how much you remember, but this seminar will help fill in any gaps and put you back on course to being an active pilot again.
Many rusty pilots feel like they'll have to start all over to regain their flying privileges. Not true. All you need is a Flight Review and endorsement from an authorized CFI and you're back in business. That's it.
The Flight Review consists of a minimum of one hour of ground instruction and one hour of flight training. And, by attending the seminar, you’ll be getting free ground instruction towards completing your Flight Review. Then all you have to do is contact your friendly CFI and brush back up on aircraft control and procedures. Once he or she endorses your logbook as satisfying the Flight Review requirements, you're a pilot again and free to roam the skies in search of that $100 hamburger.
AOPA provides all the supplies you'll need to complete the Rusty Pilots seminar at no charge. Breakfast will be available to seminar attendees at the seminar location for $5 in advance, $7 at the door. Click here to RSVP for the Fly-in and register for this seminar.
