Join us for the Flightline Cookout, Presented by Jeppesen, under the stars on Friday night featuring the AOPA STOL Invitational and a night Drone Show you won’t forget! Spend a fun evening with family and friends enjoying drinks, camaraderie, and entertainment, and unlimited food. You’ll get an up-close look at the amazing flying skills of the AOPA STOL Invitational pilots as they demonstrate mind-blowing short take offs and landings! The night Drone Show won’t fail to mesmerize and thrill!
AOPA is excited to bring you a Short Field Take-off and Landing (STOL) Invitational! While you relax at the Flightline Cookout, Presented by Jeppesen, let some incredibly talented pilots demonstrate backcountry flying techniques.
Interest in STOL and Backcountry flying is spreading across the nation and growing with annual competitions in Alaska and Texas. Experienced pilots use multiple aircraft to demonstrate short take-offs and landings on a turf surface located near the airport infield, in close view of the spectators. The aircraft categories range from single-engine bush airplane to turbine powered, heavy touring aircraft.
All AOPA Fly-Ins will include seminars discussing STOL techniques and Backcountry Flying Safety.
Like electric candles on AOPA’s birthday cake rising into the night sky, a fleet of no fewer than 80 drones will put on a spectacular aviation themed show at each of our 2019 Fly-Ins to celebrate AOPA’s 80th Anniversary.
The Great Lakes Drone Company, producers of custom-crafted displays using customized drones and specialized software to control the night-time aerial display, will provide this fittingly festive aeronautical alternative to fireworks. The Michigan company was among the first in the country to earn FAA waivers to create light shows with dozens of drones flying in digitally choreographed formations.
The shows, now named, AOPA’s 80th Anniversary Star Dance will be at all of the AOPA Fly-Ins this year. #stardance19
AOPA is excited to bring you two exciting aerobatic demonstrations exclusively at the Fly-In at Tullahoma!
The first will showcase Jeremy Holt and Pegasus, a Pitts Model 12. Be amazed as you witness an insane amount of ‘horsepower’ and two beautiful wings that are ready to show you what a six-year project brought about!
Jeremy’s biggest sponsor is his wife, for putting up with the many hours of practice and financial burden to bring you this great show. He would also like to thank MT-Propellers USA, Gulf Coast Avionics, Kevin Kimball Enterprises, and Hooker Harnesses for their continued support.
That’s not all! The next performer is the incredible Lee Lauderback, President and CEO of Stallion 51 Corporation. Watch as he showcases his high-performance, military-style aerobatic routine that’s sure to keep you on the edge of your seat!
Lauderback’s flight demonstration both uses and is dedicated to the P-51 Mustang and its history as one of the most famous fighters of World War II. He hopes his demonstration allows the public to see firsthand the high-performance maneuvering that allowed this remarkable aircraft to achieve such fame.

AOPA plans the fly-ins, but volunteers bring them to life. Whether it’s setting up the Main Stage area, guiding cars and aircraft into their parking spaces, or taking down displays and exhibits at the end of the event, there are many ways volunteers help make the magic happen. But volunteering isn’t all about hard work – it’s also about meeting other volunteers, seeing the fly-in from the “insider’s” perspective, and making friends and valuable contacts that you will keep for years. You’ll be proud to have participated, knowing that you did your part to support GA. If you want something better than a front-row seat, join our community of AOPA Fly-In volunteers! Plus, we'll feed you and give you a free AOPA Volunteer T-shirt and cap for your efforts!

While visiting Tullahoma, fly out to KMMI McMinn County Airport to see the Swift Museum and have lunch. The Swift Museum is located at the McMinn County airport (KMMI) in Athens, Tennessee.
The Museum is proud to present Swift’s from the start in 1946 to today. Although production stopped in 1951, Swift’s have continued to be modified and current editions have the speed and looks to be the envy of General aviation. From SN#1 to the military model, the T-35 Buckaroo USAF trainers (military versions of the Swift tested by the USAF in the early 1950’s), there is not a finer collection of Swifts on display in the world. A Swift is hanging in the Smithsonian for national viewing, but at the Swift Museum you can stand next to these historic aircraft and see into the cockpit.
Be sure to grab a bite to eat from one of the food trucks located on site while you are here!
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., FREE transportation provided to and from Jack Daniel Distillery and Tullahoma Regional Airport (Friday ONLY)!

We offer a variety of distillery tours to fit your visit and help you get better acquainted with the home of Jack Daniel’s.
The Dry County Tour – Walk through our hallowed hollow and learn something about Mr. Jack’s distillery without partaking of his smooth-sipping whiskey. The Dry County tour is perfect for you and teetotalers of all ages.

The Angel’s Share – You'll be treated to a story-filled, guided walk through the Jack Daniel Distillery with a sample of several expressions from our Single Barrel Collection and two limited edition whiskeys.

AEDC is an Air Force Test Center organization. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization and an important national resource.
