FAA Funding Debate

AOPA FAA Funding Debate

The FAA's arguments

FICTION: The U.S. air traffic control (ATC) system is inefficient.

FACT: Not only is it the safest, the U.S. ATC system is the most efficient with more operations at a lower cost per operation than any other country.

  • The average number of annual operations per controller in the United States is nearly double the number per controller in Canada. It is over eight times the number in Germany and the Netherlands.
  • The FAA also has a lower cost per operation than other modern ATC service providers in countries including Germany, Australia, Netherlands, and Canada.
