Flight Training Magazine

AOPA Flight Training

Welcome to AOPA Flight Training magazine's home page on AOPA Online! AOPA Flight Training is dedicated to student pilots and new private pilots. Each issue is full of articles that are intended to help you develop and perfect your flying skills, and prepare for the checkride that will allow you to become a certificated pilot. Each month we also include information for your flight instructor, to help him or her be a more knowledgeable and effective teacher — and, by extension, to help you achieve your goals and objectives in aviation.

As an AOPA Flight Training subscriber — even if you're a new student pilot receiving six months of the magazine for free — you enjoy all the benefits of membership in the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. AOPA's membership of more than 380,000 includes more than 60 percent of U.S. pilots. This includes access to the members-only section of AOPA Online, the association's Web site, which offers some 30,000 pages of helpful aviation information — most of it unavailable anywhere else.

To help you navigate this wealth of information, we've created a directory of Online Resources for Student Pilots, which contains links to the information most important to and most frequently used by student pilots. For flight instructors, there's a similar compilation of Online Resources for CFIs. We suggest that you bookmark the appropriate page in your Web browser, for easy access whenever you need answers to an aviation question. If you're reading something on the Web site and have a question, call AOPA toll-free at 800/USA-AOPA (800/872-2672) and ask one of our knowledgeable aviation technical specialists, available weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern time — or send an e-mail message to a special e-mail address just for AOPA Flight Training subscribers.

Let us know if there are pages on AOPA Online that you find helpful, but that we have overlooked in compiling these online resource guides.

We welcome your comments and questions about the magazine. E-mail the magazine, or if you prefer, e-mail me directly. Or you may write us at 421 Aviation Way, Frederick, Maryland 21701; telephone 301/695-2350; or fax 301/695-2180.
