TFRs still in effect for Obama

President-elect Barack ObamaPresident-elect Barack Obama

The FAA has extended a small temporary flight restriction (TFR) in Chicago for president-elect Barack Obama.

The 2-nautical-mile-radius TFR that extends from the surface up to 2,999 feet agl over Obama’s house will continue to be in effect until Nov. 13.

Meanwhile, the FAA has canceled the notam for Sen. John McCain that was scheduled to be in effect in Phoenix until Nov. 6.

See AOPA’s Security Notams and TFRs Locator page for the specific time and location of the TFR for Obama.

AOPA strongly encourages pilots to obtain a briefing and check notams before every flight. TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.
