AOPA's news bureau, media spokesman, and public information resource is the Communications Division. Staffed by public affairs professionals, AOPA Communications maintains wide-ranging contacts to channel accurate, balanced information on general aviation to the press and opinion leaders nationwide.

AOPA public outreach efforts include programs such as "Take 'em Flying!" and education efforts like APPLE — America's Pilots Participating in Local Education.

The "AOPA Action" section of AOPA Pilot magazine is compiled by Communications, which also stages 24-36 AOPA Pilot Town Meetings nationwide each year.
