Make sure you’re covered before your first spring flight
Now that spring is here and summer on its way, more pilots will be taking to the skies. The cost of aircraft renter’s insurance has been reduced for AOPA members, thanks to the efforts of AOPA and the AOPA Insurance Agency. AOPA members receive a 5-percent discount on new renter’s insurance policies, allowing members to obtain a comprehensive policy for as little as $175.
“Because four of out five pilots rent an aircraft when they take to the skies, improving our insurance products for the renter pilot was a major goal of the AOPA Insurance Agency, and one we’re proud to have achieved. The AOPA Insurance Agency now offers comprehensive renter packages with lower rates,” said AOPA Executive Vice President of Non-Dues Revenue Greg Sterling.
“As the largest light aircraft insurance agency in the country representing more than 415,000 member pilots, we were able to work with major ‘A’-rated underwriters to offer our members more affordable premiums and comprehensive package options. Our new package options not only makes comprehensive renter’s coverage more affordable, it makes the purchase easier. Plus, members renewing their AOPA Insurance Agency renter’s policy can take advantage of an additional 10-percent discount if they were claim- and accident-free during the previous policy year.”
And should an incident occur, pilots may qualify for the AOPA Accident Forgiveness and Deductible Waiver Enhancement on select insurance policies. Simply participate in qualifying AOPA Air Safety Foundation safety education every six months to be eligible for the AOPA Accident Forgiveness and Deductible Waiver Enhancement. This valuable coverage enhancement prevents the policy renewal rate from increasing as a result of the accident.
