AOPA Expo - Do You Know the Way to San Jose?
The 2008 AOPA Expo has landed in San Jose, California, at both the McEnery Convention Center and the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport! Tickets to all social events, the Exhibit Hall and seminars may be purchased on-site at the Convention Center starting on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 1:00 pm.
Expand your aviation knowledge with over 60 hours of educational seminars. Enjoy the humor of Rod Machado, learn about the state of the Light Sport Aircraft industry, and test your awareness with safety seminars put on by the AOPA Air Safety Foundation.
Hop onto a complimentary shuttle, courtesy of AOPA Platinum Sponsor, Cessna, from the Convention Center and view over 80 aircraft at nearby Mineta San Jose International Airport. Shuttle hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Thursday and Friday, and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Saturday.
AOPA President Phil Boyer and other industry experts will highlight daily General Sessions at 9 a.m. at the Convention Center. All General Sessions are free and open to the public. The Opening Luncheon, on Thursday, Nov. 6, will feature Paul Poberezyn, founder and chairman of Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). AOPA will also honor the winners of the Max Karant journalism awards.
And the fun doesn’t stop at sundown! Network and share your passion for aviation with fellow pilots at the evening events. Join us on Thursday for the Welcome Reception from 6 to 7 p.m. in the San Jose Marriott. Enjoy great food and entertainment at the Friday Night Party to be held at The Tech Museum of Innovation—you won’t want to miss the IMAX aviation film, The Magic of Flight, where you will experience the thrill of flying and soaring through the history of flight! The Closing Banquet on Saturday will offer dinner and entertainment and a special tribute to Phil Boyer, recognizing his 18 years as President of AOPA. In addition, government officials and individuals in the aviation community who labored to defend and preserve general aviation during the past year will be honored. All social events are by ticket only and can be purchased on-site at Registration, together with daily Seminar and Exhibits passes. Please note that social events have sold out in past years.
