Meet Team Alpha
Sounds like an action movie, but it’s better!

Team Alpha sounds like an action movie where a group of intrepid soldiers machete their way to a jungle rescue. Team Alpha isn’t a Hollywood creation – it’s the name of a work group (one of four) that was recently formed at AOPA Insurance Agency to enhance customer service. Employees were assigned teams in order to reduce customers being put on hold and routed around to different staff members.
We want to provide you an opportunity to get to know your team here in Wichita a bit better. In the next several issues, we will introduce you to everyone on staff, but we will start with Team Alpha today.
Heading up Team Alpha is Julie Crawford, CPCU*, CAIP* who is Account Executive and Team Lead. She says, “I manage my group to ensure we have a balance of duties, top notch quality control and are serving the needs of every customer. I also like to stay involved with members and continue to provide direct service on many accounts.”

>>>>>What Julie does when she’s not working: I read novels, particularly historical fiction. I studied piano for a long time and I continue to learn new pieces. My husband and I have a new longarm quilting business.
Carol Thompson, CISR* serves as Account Manager II and Assistant Team Lead. In addition to writing new and renewal business, Carol fills in as Team Lead when Julie is out of the office. Carol adds, “I help train other members on the team who are learning new duties.”

David Holland is an Account Manager II. Simply stated, he says, “I sell and service insurance policies for aircraft owners and pilots. I am here to serve our members.”
>>>>>What David likes best about his job: The opportunity to visit with members from all over the country and keep them educated about their policies, coverages and terms.
>>>>>What David does when he’s not working: Other than time with my family, I am also a musician/singer/songwriter. I give private instruction in guitar and general music theory. As an artist/performer, I currently have one album out on an Indie label and am about to release a second. As a songwriter I have written several songs that have been published in Nashville. I also tour regionally on weekends performing at nightclubs, fairs, festivals, and rodeos.
Cherlyn “Cher” Clare is an Account Manager II who describes her position this way: “I place new business, handle owner renewals and provide service to all.”

>>>>>What Cher does when she’s not working: I like making quilts, from designing them to sewing them. I also like to spoil my grandchildren.
Jennifer Collier is currently an Account Manger I who quickly adds that she is “in transition to Account Manger II.” Her area of expertise is “customer service for Non-owned and CFI aircraft insurance.” When her promotion to Account Manger II become official, her job duties will expand to include renewing current aircraft owners’ policies and servicing those accounts.

It will not come as a surprise that, all told, Team Alpha has a combined tenure of 67 years at AOPA Insurance Agency. They enjoy putting their experience and expertise to work for you to provide you the best possible coverage at the best possible rate.
