Free member benefit is building block for renter coverage
AOPA strongly believes that every pilot who rents an aircraft should have renters insurance—so strongly in fact that all members who do not own an aircraft and have no renters insurance will now receive a free $100 waiver of deductible certificate.
Considering the risk of flying uninsured—and that most coverage through FBOs does not cover the pilot—there’s no reason not to have renters insurance. However, this free member benefit alone is not enough to adequately protect you. As an AOPA member you will have access to a variety of affordable, comprehensive renters insurance packages.
Comprehensive coverage for renters is available for as low as $99 per year. Renters are also given a 10-percent discount with a clean flying record on renewing for the second year. Applying for renters insurance is easy and can be accomplished within 15 minutes online.
