Do you take every precaution when it comes to your health?
As a pilot you take every precaution before taking a flight, but are you taking the same care when it comes to your health? Now, AOPA members can ratchet up their health preparedness with Life Line Screenings.
Even routine physicals can miss possible serious health issues as evidenced by a recent testimonial received by Life Line.
Patti Stracener of Mason, Wash., the wife of a recent Life Line Screening participant, explained how her husband, a school bus driver, had undergone a routine physical where everything checked fine. His blood pressure was good, his heart was fine, and in all aspects he seemed to be a healthy individual.
It wasn’t until his Life Line Screening that a serious health problem was discovered. She went on to describe how “at the screening they found not only blocked carotid arteries, but three aneurysms. The one in his abdomen was 6 1/4 cm, plus he has one on each iliac artery.” Her husband, after three operations and three months of healing, is now fully recovering.
This example serves to underscore the importance of taking every available precaution with something as precious as good health. AOPA is pleased to now offer yet another way to help keep members healthy and flying with Life Line Screenings.
Remember, by choosing AOPA member products you help Rally GA by funding the association’s daily efforts to maintain the freedom, safety, and affordability of general aviation. For more information about LifeLine Screenings visit the website.
