When close won’t get you there, AOPA has a solution

Ever been close to the freedom of owning your own aircraft before but it just didn’t happen? Or you wanted a bigger, faster, more capable aircraft than your budget could absorb, so you settled for something less than your dream? If so, then it’s time to consider a paradigm shift.

Aircraft ownership doesn’t have to be expensive if you’re willing to consider more options than going it alone. And to help more pilots and owners get their dream aircraft, AOPA has launched the Aircraft Partnership Program. The program is open to all pilots and aircraft owners, AOPA members and nonmembers alike, who are interested in co-owning an aircraft, or selling shares in aircraft they already own to reduce costs or even to generate extra cash to make significant upgrades. That’s the paradigm shift—two (or more) pilots can own an aircraft for less than a single pilot. Even one partner reduces the total cost of acquisition and ownership 50 percent—you can’t argue with the math.

It’s easy to get started too. Just like an online matchmaking site, you'll create a free, confidential “Partner Profile” that provides essential information about the aircraft you want, your budget, location, aircraft availability, and more to help determine your compatibility with potential co-owners. If you want to sell shares of an aircraft, memberships in a flying club, or cooperative or fractional ownership opportunities, you can create a “Share for Sale” listing for only $10 a month ($20 per month for non-AOPA members).

Once you complete your Partner Profile, you can start searching for other pilots who want to experience the joy of ownership or upgrading to a faster and more sophisticated aircraft. If a new pilot joins the program between your visits, you will receive automatic emails alerting you to the potential new partner.

So when close doesn’t get you where you want to be, lean on the AOPA Aircraft Partnership Program to take you the rest of the way. This exciting new program will help put aircraft ownership within reach for more AOPA members than ever before.
