Meet Team Delta
Team Delta brings experience to provide you with top-notch service
The AOPA Insurance Agency transitioned to a team-based structure in order to serve you and your aircraft insurance needs more efficiently. The team-based structure allows you to be connected to a service team that will handle all of your needs. There are four service teams: Team Alpha, Team Delta, Team Victor and Team XRay. In this edition we would like to introduce you to Team Delta.
Team Delta is led by Team Lead Shelly Kalal, who has more than 30 years of insurance experience. At Shelly’s side are six licensed aviation insurance agents that will help you with your new plane purchase, adding a pilot, renewing your aircraft insurance or any other service you may require.
Team Delta has more than a combined 50 years of experience in the insurance industry and is well-equipped to serve your insurance needs. The Account Manager IIs specialize in placing personal and commercial coverage for those who own their aircraft and the Account Manager I is there to place coverage for those seeking renter’s insurance. Meet the memberss of Team Delta:
Team Lead Shelly Kalal enjoys helping pilots get the right coverage and loves it when they are happy with what she is able to provide for them. Outside of AOPAIA, Shelly is active in riding and showing Cutting Horses.
Assistant Team Lead Julie Crawford likes helping others and making sure the team works efficiently. Julie is an avid reader and loves historical fiction. When she isn’t reading, you can find Julie playing piano and working on her quilting.
Account Manager II Brenda Fields enjoys talking to pilots and student pilots from different places around the country. Brenda also likes going to different places with her husband on the motorcycle and loves riding her Harley to the office. She is starting to restore a 1962 Ford Falcon station wagon as a side project.
Account Manager II James Oliphant enjoys visiting with other pilots as part of his day. As a fellow pilot, James understands their questions and concerns. After work, he is busy flying his Mooney 201, is an active band director of a community band, plays trombone in several Wichita area performance ensembles and also judges marching bands and color guards. James also enjoys spending time with his granddaughter, Piper, and his family.
Account Manager II Jeff Taylor likes the variety of tasks that he experiences in his day and enjoys his co-workers at AOPAIA. In his spare time, Jeff is a volunteer at the Kansas Humane Society and loves dogs. Jeff also enjoys cooking and eating and of course after all that eating, working out followed by relaxing with a good book.
Account Manager I JoAnne Cox likes her co-workers at AOPAIA and the learning experiences involved with her position. In her free time, Jo enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to the agents, Mindy Wineinger, administrative assistant, is here to aid the agents and help get paperwork and other information to you quickly.
