Meet the Team

Yodice Associates manages the AOPA Legal Services Plan.  Ron Golden is one of the firm's attorneys.  He engages in the general practice of law, chiefly in aviation matters involving the areas of administrative, corporate, insurance, tax and business law.

Mr. Golden obtained his J.D. degree from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University, Washington, D.C., and is admitted to practice in Maryland.  Prior to that, he received a B.S. degree from the United States Military Academy.

Mr. Golden joined Yodice Associates in 1980.  He is a member of the Board of Directors and a past president of the Seaplane Pilots Association and is a member of the board of directors of three other aviation-related organizations.  Memberships include the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association, the National Transportation Safety Board Bar Association, and the Frederick County Bar Association.

He grew up on a cattle ranch in Nebraska and observed others using aircraft to check cattle and fences.  This sparked his life-long interest in flying.  In 1975, he bought his first airplane and subsequently learned to fly at a military flying club in Washington.  He says “I’ve been extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to combine a career with a hobby.  When I went to law school I had no idea ‘aviation law’ even existed.  Now I get to work with aviation legal issues every day.”

He is an instrument rated commercial pilot and holds a seaplane rating. He currently owns a 1977 Cessna Cardinal RG that he uses for business and personal flying.
