Making travel plans for AOPA Aviation Summit?
As you make plans for attending AOPA Aviation Summit in Hartford, Conn., from Thursday, Sept. 22 to Saturday, Sept. 24, keep in mind that you can save money if you plan and book your travel arrangements through AOPA.

In addition to saving money, you will be helping AOPA because a portion of your travel dollars is returned to AOPA for working on behalf of you and general aviation.
Another way to save money while attending Summit is to check out the restaurant coupons available at www.restaurant.com. Once at the home page, click on Connecticut, find Hartford, and look at the deals. A recent search uncovered 21 different restaurants in Hartford – from neighborhood pubs to restaurants right in downtown hotels. You can save up to 50 percent with a restaurant.com coupon.
You won’t be buying these restaurant coupons sight unseen. With each restaurant, you can click on the menu and see if it appeals to you. Bear in mind that restaurants sign up to be part of this program; they participate willingly so you’ll never be faced with the awkward situation of a restaurant refusing to accept your coupon.
Here’s another way to save money at Summit: Volunteer! Volunteers are needed from Sept. 21 through Sept. 25 at Hartford-Brainard Airport. You will help park some of the more than 1,000 aircraft of fellow AOPA members. You also will help direct the flow of traffic and people, and provide general guidance at Airportfest.
If you work five hours or more, you’ll receive an AOPA Aviation Summit Seminars & Exhibits pass (a $55 value).
