Partnership program aims to make ownership more affordable, safer
AOPA recently launched the Aircraft Partnership Program with the goal of making aircraft ownership safer and more affordable by helping AOPA members and nonmembers alike find people interested in co-owning aircraft.
More often than not, an aviator does not get maximum usage out of his or her aircraft. This leads to one of the worst maintenance issues for aircraft, inactivity and the safety concerns associated with the lack of use. Adding even one co-owner to your aircraft can increase safety by increasing flight activity and also having the financial benefit of reducing the overall fixed costs of aircraft ownership by 50 percent.
The Partnership Program works similarly to an online matchmaking site. You’ll create a confidential Partner Profile that provides detailed information about the aircraft you want, including costs, location, aircraft availability, and more to help determine compatibility with potential co-owners.
If you have an aircraft and are looking for partners, you can post a Share for Sale for only $10 per month ($20 per month for non AOPA members). Shares for Sale listings include up to 12 high-resolution images (i.e., interior, exterior, panel, etc) and links to your own video content and up to six documents such as logbooks, brochures, operating cost models, etc.
Once your Partner Profile or Share for Sale is complete, you can begin to actively search the database of or receive email alerts on potential matches. To get started, go to www.AOPA.org/aircraftpartnership.
Once you found your partners and start working on purchasing an aircraft, be sure to check out the AOPA Member Products Ownership Services. From insurance to title, we have what you need.
