We’ve got what you want this year!
This will be my 12th year attending AOPA’s annual convention and my third time in Palm Springs. I must say, the Palm Spring’s venue is my favorite. I’m really excited about this year’s event—not only is it a great venue, but we’ve really listened to feedback from our members and designed this event to be what YOU want. There’s more education and training, as well as some really exciting celebrity guests, newly designed social events, and my favorite-- the Parade of Planes!
Summit 2012 is placing a greater emphasis on its learning opportunities to include even more expert advice and—entirely new this year—interaction during seminars and sessions. With more than 100 hours of seminars between the how-to’s, community and learning pavilion areas, you are certain to get a great education during Summit 2012. Plus, we have added facilitators to each of the seminars to ensure pilots get the education experience they expect and need. I will be one of them, and I really look forward to engaging with you.
You’ll also get the opportunity to hear from Discovery Channel’s ‘Flying Wild Alaska’ pilots, Craig Hosking, one of Hollywood’s most experienced precision pilots, and pilot, actor, comedian, Dave Coulier. They will all share their flying adventures and stories—you might be able to grab a few autographs too.
If you’re looking to network and connect with other pilots, we have the California Dreamin’ Resort Party, the Wild West Desert Adventure party, a nightly “spa Lift lounge” and an Aviator’s Breakfast to name just a few. We also have a few special events and activities for our new youth membership group—AOPA AV8RS. To me, the highlight of AOPA’s Aviation Summit at Palm Springs has always been the Parade of Planes…nothing like it because we can’t do it anywhere else!Summit 2012 returns to Palm Springs, California, October 11 through 13. I hope to see you there! To learn more and register, visit http://www.aopa.org/summit/.
