Brittney Miculka—Manager, Prospective Pilot and Youth Outreach

As Manager of Prospective Pilot and Youth Outreach programs, Brittney reaches out to members, non-member pilots and the non-flying public through various communications channels including events, promotions, speaking engagements and grass-roots programs. Her key focus is on overseeing AOPA’s initiatives to increase the pilot population.

Brittney is a commercial pilot and certificated flight instructor. She joined AOPA in August of 2005 as part of the AOPA Air Safety Foundation. In August of 2007, she transitioned to the Government and Technical Affairs team as an Aviation Technical Specialist for the Pilot Information Center and later served as the Manager of General Aviation Security. Brittney transitioned to her current role in March 2011. In this capacity she helps those who have always dreamed about becoming a pilot take the next step to begin flight training through www.LetsGoFlying.com. Brittney also contributes to the AOPA Flight Training Student Retention Initiative, aimed at facilitating a positive flight training experience to help student pilots achieve their goals while growing the pilot population and strengthening general aviation. She also manages the AOPA PATH program that encourages teachers and pilots to bring aviation into the classroom.

Prior to joining AOPA, Brittney served as an Aviation Academic Specialist with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She holds a B.S. in Aviation Human Factors from the University of Illinois.
