AOPA Regional Manager Program Extends to Cover Hawaii

Frederick, MD – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association will extend its field representation program to Hawaii, President Craig L. Fuller announced at a Pilot Town Hall in Honolulu. New Western Pacific Regional Manager John Pfeifer now has responsibility for Hawaii, California, Nevada and Arizona. 

On Jan. 2, AOPA launched its new Regional Manager Program as a key component of strengthening its commitment to providing robust representation in every state. In the first significant change to its regional representation program in decades, AOPA recently introduced a new team of seven full-time regional managers. These AOPA staff members, who live and work in the regions they represent, will create a new level of full-time member engagement for AOPA in the aviation community and with state and local governments.

In addition to representing AOPA member interests with state and local government officials, AOPA’s new regional managers will also play an important role in the Association’s new initiatives to stimulate and encourage greater engagement in aviation issues among local pilots and aviation supporters. 

In making the announcement to pilots in Honolulu, Fuller acknowledged the need to include the nation’s 50th state in the program. “General aviation is critical to Hawaii’s economy and transportation system,” he said. “We understand the need to protect the interests of our members in Hawaii, and we believe that providing direct representation through our Regional Manager Program is the best way to do that.”
