AOPA Continues Sponsorship of “The Aviators” TV Series
Lakeland, FL – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association has renewed its sponsorship of `The Aviators’ television series, a weekly magazine-style show that offers viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the industry.
“AOPA was one of the first organizations to support us when we launched season one of the show back in September 2010,” said Anthony Nalli, executive producer at FourPoints Television Productions, which produces `The Aviators.’ “As we approach the premier of season three in September, we look forward to our continued relationship with AOPA in telling the stories of the aviation community.”
AOPA saw the potential of ‘The Aviators’ when representatives from the show first began seeking sponsors back in 2009. “After a meeting at AirVenture in 2010, we saw the potential of working with FourPoints on `The Aviators’ as a great vehicle for bringing the stories of general aviation to the public,” said Andrew Broom, vice president of communications for AOPA. “We are pleased that we can continue our sponsorship of the show.”
Since its launch in September 2010, the show is now broadcast on more than 200 PBS U.S. television markets. The show also airs on the Travel + Escape channel in Canada, overseas on the Discovery Channel, and online via Hulu and iTunes. Its ratings in season one reached an estimated 9.3 million weekly U.S. viewers; in season two, the number rose to an estimated 10.3 million weekly U.S. viewers.
