AOPA Names Katie Pribyl Vice President of Communications

Frederick, MD – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) has appointed Katie Pribyl to serve as vice president of communications.

Pribyl has extensive experience in both commercial and general aviation. She comes to AOPA from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), where she served as director of communications.  During her tenure at GAMA, Pribyl was responsible for developing and implementing the association’s communications and public affairs agenda on issues affecting more than 75 general aviation manufacturers from around the world.

“We are delighted to add Katie to our team. Her strong background in general aviation and her demonstrated professionalism in communications will help AOPA continue its efforts in getting its key messages out on industry issues,” said President Craig Fuller.

Prior to GAMA, Pribyl was a line pilot on the Canadair Regional Jet 200 (CRJ200) with Atlantic Coast Airlines and Independence Air. She also worked at the Federal Aviation Administration’s National Aviation Safety Data Analysis Center conducting studies and analysis of aviation safety data. Pribyl holds a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is a certified flight instructor.

Pribyl proudly serves the aviation industry as a board member of the Lindbergh Foundation, the Board of Senior Advisors to the National Intercollegiate Flying Association, the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Alumni Advisory Council and the Board of Visitors at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.
