Frederick, MD – Ms. Amanda C. Farnsworth has been named to the Board of Trustees of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).

“Amanda’s mix of business acumen, strong aviation background, and experience serving on corporate boards make her a great addition to the AOPA Board of Trustees,” said board Chairman William Trimble.

Farnsworth recently retired from a 27-year career at Louisville, Ky.-based investment brokerage firm J.J.B Hilliard, W.L. Lyons, LLC, where she remains a partner.  She has served on various corporate boards, including National Safety Alliance, Consumers Insurance Group (current Chairman), Franklin American Mortgage Co., Precision Energy Solutions and Optimum Solutions, Inc.

Farnsworth is active in her Nashville community, serving on local boards including the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, Leadership Nashville Alumni Board, and the Ensworth School Board of Trust.  Farnsworth is an alumnus of Vanderbilt University, where she received both her undergraduate and Master’s degrees.

An instrument-rated pilot, Farnsworth has been an AOPA member since 2003.  She is also a member of Women in Aviation.  “AOPA and I share common goals – to grow the general aviation population and keep flying accessible and affordable for all,” said Farnsworth.  “I look forward to working with AOPA CEO Craig Fuller and the rest of the board reach these goals.”
