So who answers all of those aviation questions members ask?  Stop by and meet the team of dedicated instructors, ATP’s, A&P’s and aviation professionals who can help smooth the process of buying or selling an aircraft, interpret the FARs, help you avoid a TFR incursion or answer questions about AOPA’s Real Time Flight Planner.  They also can provide tips on how to find essential information on AOPA's website. Got a question concerning your next medical? Our medical certification assistance team will also be on-hand to answer your medical questions.

Development

AOPA Development is responsible for raising funds from AOPA members and pilots to help underwrite key safety research and education initiatives.   Our focus is on major donor support and growing the AOPA Life Membership, Hat in the Ring Society, and President’s Council --- key philanthropic communities.  Development oversees the direct mail and telemarketing efforts to reach out to as many members as possible to help save lives.

Government Affairs

(2nd Floor, Government Affairs)

Concerned about saving your airport or want to get the latest on User Fees and FAA funding?  Stop by and speak personally with the government affairs staff that represents your interests on these and other crucial issues.  We are available throughout the day to discuss AOPA advocacy efforts on ATC, airspace, regulatory and certification policy, federal and state legislative issues, security and advanced technology issues such as the FAA proposal to require new equipment on almost all aircraft.  A display focusing on the AOPA Airport Support Network and AOPA’s Airport Watch Program will be available for members who may be interested in learning more about these valuable programs.

President’s Office

(2nd Floor, Office of the President)

Phil Boyer heads the nation’s leading advocacy organization for general aviation. He leads AOPA on campaigns against unreasonable regulation, excessive taxation, and unjustified constraints on GA – this year the battle focuses on FAA Funding. Stop by and visit the office of the president and play our AOPA trivia game and win a prize! In addition, Phil Boyer is President of the International Council of Aircraft Owner and Pilot Associations (IAOPA). IAOPA now represents pilots and aircraft operators in 66 countries.
