Ground Transportation

There are a variety of ground transportation options between Tampa International Airport and the Tampa area hotels.

Rental Cars: Rental car counters are located across the walkway in the Red Baggage Claim Area and across the walkway in the Blue Baggage Claim Area.

Taxis: Tampa International Airport is served by Yellow Cab and United Cab. Both companies charge the same fares: $2 plus $2.25 per mile. The minimum fee from the airport is $15. Once the meter exceeds the $15, the minimum no longer applies. There is a maximum flat rate fee of $25 to Downtown Tampa.

Airport Limos: Service is provided from the Commercial Ground Transportation Quadrants located at all four corners of the Baggage Claim Level.

Bus Services/Public Transportation: Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (Hart), 813/254-4278

Hart Regional Transit is located at the East end of the Red Baggage Claim Curbside by Belt #20. The route map and schedule is located at the bus stop.

Golf-Cart Style Transportation: Call to schedule a pick-up or drop-off.

Complimentary Shuttle Information

General Aviation Arrivals and Departures

Complimentary shuttle service will be provided to/from the Tampa Convention Center and the general aviation parking areas at both Peter O. Knight and Tampa Executive (Vandenberg) airports. NOTE: This service begins at noon on Wednesday, November 4, and runs through the end of the AOPA Summit on Saturday, November 7.

Airportfest/Aircraft Display Shuttle Service

Complimentary shuttle service will be provided to/from the Tampa Convention Center and the Airportfest/Aircraft Display located at Peter O. Knight Airport. NOTE: This service runs during the Airportfest/Aircraft Display hours only.

Parking Information

Parking is available at the Tampa Convention Center, as well as at multiple public lots within walking distance of the Convention Center, managed by the city of Tampa, available at reasonable rates. Parking is also available at the hotels being utilized for the AOPA Summit, all of which are within four blocks of the Tampa Convention Center. There is also limited parking at Peter O. Knight Airport.
