Sun 'n Fun
Florida TV station produces Sun 'n Fun reports
You looked forward to Sun ’n Fun all year, then it happened and was over. Now you need something to do between Sun ’n Fun and EAA AirVenture. Here are two solutions.
GATV prepared four special reports on Sun ’n Fun 2010 that will first air over a West Palm Beach TV station, WHDT, at 10 p.m. April 21. Afterward the show is archived on the GATV Web site. Go there now and you’ll see a banner with additional information on when you can see the four Sun ’n Fun reports both at Lakeland and the Splash-In at Lake Agnes.
GATV is a weekly half-hour aviation show that airs on WHDT to more than 12 million viewers every Wednesday evening at 10 p.m. The station coverage is mainly South Florida with an additional area of coverage in Boston.
“Our goal at GATV is to show how easy it is to get into general aviation either as a sport pilot or as a private pilot and to show ways to make flying affordable. A typical episode will cover a wide range of aviation topics, including aircraft, avionics, modifications, maintenance, flying destinations, flight training, event coverage, and flying tips from a [certificated] flight instructor,” said Dave East, a producer for GATV.
After each show airs, it is then uploaded to GATVonline.com where they are viewed anytime. The GATVonline.com Web site is devoted entirely to general aviation, including flight planning, flying resources, sponsors links, events, and information on flight training.
