FAA funding debate heats up in Alaska

In a state where aviation is one of the primary means of transportation, the way to fund a modernized air traffic control system is a hot topic. In the September issue of Alaska Airlines Magazine, the airline's Chairman and CEO William S. Ayer supports the Air Transport Association's position on funding. AOPA needs you to set the airline straight and get our position out to the public.

Alaska Airlines not only serves Alaska, but also Washington state and many locations across the country.

E-mail the airline's CEO and insert this rebuttal into the magazine the next time you fly Alaska Airlines.

"Alaska is a state where the value of general aviation is extremely obvious," said AOPA President Phil Boyer. "Alaska legislators recognize that fact and earlier this year passed a resolution opposing user fees."
