Through AOPA staff, a network of 12 regional representatives, and a corps of 1,600 Airport Support Network volunteers, AOPA advocates for its members at the state and local level to:

Keep airports open and affordable for pilots
Stop higher taxes on flying
Protect general aviation pilots from unnecessary state and local regulation

For nearly two decades, AOPA has deployed a network of experienced regional representatives to extend the association's reach into the state and local public policy environment across the United States. These representatives are charged with gathering intelligence about state legislative and airport initiatives, building relationships with key aviation decision-makers, and advocating for the AOPA membership on a range of critical issues nationwide.
