N.M. bill would put millions in aviation trust fund

The New Mexico aviation trust fund would get a multi-million dollar boost if House Bill 205 passes. The bill would take money from the state's general fund and give $1 million the first year, $2 million the second year, and $3 million every year after that to the aviation trust fund. "This bill provides additional funding that the state needs to protect and improve its airport infrastructure," said Greg Pecoraro, AOPA vice president of regional affairs. "AOPA applauds the state's legislators for recognizing that the airports meet the needs of all citizens and therefore should be funded in part through the general fund." AOPA has expressed its support for the bill to the New Mexico House and Senate.
