Contact your governor to sign pro-airport bill

It's time to do your part-help Texas improve its air transportation system. Contact Texas Gov. Rick Perry and encourage him to sign House Bill 3440. The legislation would help city economic development corporations, which bring business to airports, to expand the use of funds to hangars, airport maintenance and repair facilities, air cargo facilities, and related infrastructure located on or adjacent to an airport facility. The bill clarifies and broadens the definition of transportation facilities to include a variety of structures necessary to airports. AOPA President Phil Boyer wrote the governor this week to urge him to sign the bill.
