FAA listens to pilots, proposes Oregon T-route

After AOPA and pilots in the Northwest requested an area navigation route (T-route) near the Oregon coast, the FAA issued a proposal for T-274. The route would allow pilots who fly aircraft with IFR-certified GPS units to file direct from the Newport VOR to the CRAAF intersection. However, the agency has not included the general aviation community’s request for a minimum en route altitude that would be useful to pilots flying at lower altitudes. AOPA will submit comments to the FAA supporting the proposal and requesting a low MEA. AOPA members are encouraged to do the same before March 31. For more details and to submit comments, read the proposal.
