FAA proposes T-route around Portland airspace

In an effort to increase air traffic efficiency and safety, the FAA is proposing a new T-route (T-276) that would allow pilots on IFR flight plans in aircraft with IFR-certified GPS receivers to bypass the busy Portland Class C airspace. AOPA will be requesting a low minimum en route altitude in its comments supporting the T-route. Pilots are encouraged to submit their own comments on the T-route by June 13. Comments should be sent to: U.S. Department of Transportation, Docket Operations, M-30, 1200 New Jersey Avenue S.E., West Building Ground Floor, Room W12-140, Washington, D.C. 20590-0001. For more information, see the proposed rule and AOPA’s advocacy brief.
