Flight restrictions over NYC for U.N. General Assembly

Temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) will be in effect over New York City during the United Nation’s sixty-third General Assembly from Sept. 20 through 30. A 2-nautical-mile radius TFR will be centered over the assembly, extending from the surface up to 7,000 feet msl. It will be in effect daily from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. A TFR will also encompass the lateral boundaries of the New York Class B airspace, extending from the surface up to Flight Level 180, during President Bush’s visit from Monday, Sept. 22, through Wednesday, Sept. 24. Separate TFRs will also be in place for his arrival and departure at John F. Kennedy International. The TFRs will impact the VFR Hudson River Corridor. For details, see AOPA Online.
